Memorable Trip – Delhi to Mathura Govardhan One Day Tour

For those yearning for a spiritual retreat, the journey from Delhi to Mathura, Vrindavan, and Govardhan offers the perfect blend of devotion, tranquility, and cultural richness. This one-day tour is ideal for travelers looking to immerse themselves in the timeless tales of Lord Krishna while exploring iconic sites like the Govardhan Parikrama, Bankey Bihari Temple, and Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi.

Start Your Day in Mathura: Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi & Vishram Ghat

The journey begins in Mathura, the sacred city where Lord Krishna was born. A visit to Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Temple is both spiritually uplifting and historically significant. The temple complex houses the prison cell where Devaki and Vasudeva were held before Krishna's miraculous birth.
Take a moment at Vishram Ghat, where Lord Krishna is said to have rested after defeating Kansa. The serene ghats along the Yamuna River are perfect for spiritual reflection and prayers.

Exploring Vrindavan: Bankey Bihari Temple & Prem Mandir

A short drive from Mathura leads to Vrindavan, a town imbued with devotion to Lord Krishna. Begin your visit at the Bankey Bihari Temple, renowned for its vibrant atmosphere and captivating idol of Krishna.
Stop by the ISKCON Temple, a peaceful retreat that welcomes devotees with melodious kirtans. Don’t miss the Prem Mandir, a masterpiece of marble architecture illuminated with lights after sunset, narrating tales from Krishna’s life through intricate carvings.

Govardhan Parikrama Highlights: Radha Kund, Mansi Ganga & More

The highlight of the tour is the sacred Govardhan Parikrama, a circumambulation of the Govardhan Hill that spans approximately 21 kilometers. Along the route, you’ll encounter several spiritually significant spots:

Radha Kund and Krishna Kund
These twin ponds hold immense reverence among Krishna devotees. Radha Kund emerged when Radha sought a pure place to bathe after Krishna defeated the demon Arishta. Krishna Kund, nearby, is believed to have been created by Krishna Himself. A dip in these waters is said to cleanse the soul.

Mansi Ganga
This sacred pond was created by Krishna's divine mind (mansi) for His parents to perform rituals. A peaceful boat ride here is said to replicate Krishna’s playful pastimes with the gopis.

Mukharvind Temple
Situated at the foothills of Govardhan, this temple marks the symbolic "mouth" of the hill. Devotees offer milk, water, and sweets here as a mark of their devotion to Govardhan, considered a manifestation of Krishna.

Kusum Sarovar
A picturesque water reservoir surrounded by exquisite sandstone structures, Kusum Sarovar is where Radha and the gopis are believed to have picked flowers (kusum) for Krishna. The calm surroundings make it a favorite among visitors for meditation and reflection.
